Rare Disease Industry Accelerator Day

On the 1st October 2024, PCD Research held the first Rare Disease Industry Accelerator Day at the Francis Crick Institute, UK. We were delighted to welcome people from America, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Europe.

Groundbreaking Event

This was a groundbreaking event that aimed to redefine the future of rare disease therapies.

Leading Faculty

This novel and disruptive gathering brought together leading experts, innovators, and advocates to tackle challenges that have long stalled progress.

Fresh Perspectives

With fresh perspectives and cutting-edge approaches, we’re poised to make strides in rare disease that have never been achieved before.

“The speakers were very well chosen. The event brought a diverse audience together to tackle PCD in all angles.”

“Very high quality of the presentations and discussions.”

“Wide array of talks, diverse audience, high caliber speakers.”

“Brought together an audience with different expertises.”

“Excellent event. Connected stakeholders and patients.”

To capture the day, illustrator Jonny Glover skilfully live scribed the day to create a wonderful summary.

“The unmet need burden remains high in rare disease, whilst investors and biotechs follow the herd along well-trodden paths in cancer and immunology.
There is a real potential to benefit patients and investors charting a course into a less-explored disease like primary ciliary dyskinesia.”

Emma Tinsley, CEO, Weatherden

“We need to stop conditions like PCD being thought of as rare. Attending this conference will enable us to exchange ideas on similarities and find synergies upon which we can build platforms to enable genetic medicine.”

Matthew Durdey, CEO, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult
